![]() 8 System level cultural competency has been defined as “a set of congruent behaviors, attitudes, and policies that come together in a system, agency, or among professionals and enable that system, agency, or those professionals to work effectively in cross-cultural situations” 9 (p.20). Successful implementation of cultural competency requires an organizational commitment towards a systems approach. Our study makes a contribution to the literature by studying the relationship of hospital cultural competency with patient experiences with care in California hospitals.
